Design & Development
The Safari SS980HF snorkel kit is tough, stylish and has been designed to deliver a huge volume of the coolest and cleanest air possible into the standard air cleaner assembly of the PX Ford Ranger. Right from day one of the SS980HF development program, Safari took the decision to design a snorkel system that well and truly exceeded the air flow requirements of the 3.2L 5cylinder TDCi Diesel P5AT Engine.

Snorkel Body
The Safari snorkel body is manufactured to the highest standards in durable, UV stable, cross linked polyethylene material. In addition, the substantial wall thickness of the snorkel body delivers huge physical strength and with high quality brass threaded inserts for mounting to ensure that the snorkel body breezes through the toughest on and off-road conditions imaginable.

Air Ram Assembly
Huge air flow is but one aspect of the ultimate in snorkel design. The Safari air ram is designed to perform two very important roles. The most obvious is to direct cool clean air into the snorkel body, but just as importantly the Safari air ram acts as a highly efficient water separator to remove rain water from the incoming air stream, thus ensuring safe engine operation through even the most torrential tropical storms. In addition, the detachable Safari air ram can be rotated to any position. This provides greater peace of mind for those who plan to travel in cold or high altitude conditions where heavy snow falls are anticipated. By rotating the air ram to face away from the prevailing wind/direction of motion, the air ram delivers additional protection from the choking effects of snow build-up inside the air intake. The Safari air ram assembly is manufactured using high quality UV stable materials, ensuring the Safari air ram assembly breezes through the toughest conditions.

Connection Hose
Designed specifically to suit the required application the connection hose is made from high quality moulded EPDM rubber, allowing maximium air flow and a watertight connection from the snorkel body outlet to the air cleaner inlet.

Upper Mounting Bracket
Laser cut from marine grade stainless steel, accurately CNC folded, etch blasted and powder coated for maximum corrosion resistance, the upper mounting bracket is uniquely designed for each snorkel model to attach the snorkel body to the vehicles A-pillar.

Template:
An accurately die cut template is also provided to ensure that the installation of the snorkel body to panel work is as precise as possible.

Mounting Hardware:
The Safari Snorkel system is supplied as a complete and comprehensive kit that includes every fastener required for the installation including 304 grade stainless steel studs, Nyloc nuts, large diameter body washers, self taping screws, brackets and hose clamps through to the tough plastic A-pillar inserts.
